Youth Pastor

Anita Miller responded to the call of ministry as a 15 year old and has pursued ministry since that time focusing on Youth and Music. Working with youth groups since1982, she has always had a passion for teens. She has a vision to see young people give their lives to Christ, and then equip them to successfully live the Christian life in their culture, especially in the area of Purity. She has enjoyed a great tenure as Youth Pastor at First Church of God since Sept. 2000. Youth ministry is a ‘family affair’ which is enjoyed by her husband, Eric, and by her daughter, Michaela, who are both deeply involved in the Youth Group. Anita takes her role as Pastor very seriously and prepares a message for each Wednesday night youth meeting.

Worship Leader

Thomas Ervin brings a communicative worship style that is fueled from leading various and diverse groups and congregations since 1987, which include choirs, worship teams, and live worship bands. A native of East TN, he, with his wife Karen and sons, Jonathan and William, have served in various ministries while attending the First Church of God at Greeneville since 1998. Thomas continues to learn and grow in order to adapt to the changing youth culture, which enables him to relate to a variety of student ages and staying current with contemporary worship trends. He brings solid leadership methods from his experience in retail management and infuses them into his leadership of our student worship team, which includes drums, congas, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocalists. The youth worship team under Thomas's direction leads live worship for all youth ages 12-18 every Wednesday night.

Worship Team

The Youth Worship Team consists of instrumentalists, vocalists and media staff. We currently have drums, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, bass guitar, and keyboard. We have several vocalist including soprano, alto, and tenor. There are opportunities to serve in the area of Worship, but to be considered, one must posess a salvation experience and be actively living out that faith in a lifestyle that is pleasing to God and in accordance with the Worship Team Covenant. Our ultimate goal is to bring an acceptable, pleasing offering of Praise and Worship to the King of Kings!
