Music
Music has played an integral part in the history of the Church of God Reformation Movement and that legacy lives on today at First Church of God. Utilizing musical ensembles of all ages and a wide array of technology, we celebrate the presence of God and lead the Body in Spirit-inspired worship.

Worship Teams
Sanctuary Worship Team
Led by Worship Pastor Dale Gruver
The Sanctuary Worship Team typically plays a mix of music any given Sunday, that spans five centuries. The GFCOG worship style is a blend of hymnody, classic, heritage, contemporary, and modern music. This group of instrumentalists are highly committed, putting in several hours of practice time for every service.
This group is not a performance oriented team. Like the Sanctuary Choir, this group’s role is to remind the congregation of the presence of God through their playing.
Youth Worship Team
Led by Rev. Thomas Ervin
Thomas Ervin brings a communicative worship style that is fueled from leading various and diverse groups and congregations since 1987, including choirs, worship teams, and live worship bands. The Youth Worship Team consists of instrumentalists, vocalists and media staff. It currently has drums, electric guitars, acoustic guitars, bass guitar, and keyboard. The team also contains several vocalists including soprano, alto, and tenor. There are opportunities to serve in the area of Worship, but to be considered, one must posess a salvation experience and be actively living out that faith in a lifestyle that is pleasing to God. The ultimate goal is to bring an acceptable, pleasing offering of Praise and Worship to the King of Kings!
The Fire Worship Team (College)
Led by Daniel Cooke (www.singingcookes.com)
The Fire Worship Team for our college agers, lead by Daniel Cooke, is a team of worshipers willing to serve God through their voices and their instruments. The Holy Spirit is evidenced in each of their lives by their willingness to serve, and their dedication to lifting up the name of Jesus. Sets range from upbeat contemporary styles, to hymns rearranged to have a more modern styling, to laid back acoustic sets. With this diverse group of people, you never quite know what to expect. The most interesting thing about this team is that many of its members are often used as worship leaders within and outside of the group.
