Music

Music has played an integral part in the history of the Church of God Reformation Movement and that legacy lives on today at First Church of God. Utilizing musical ensembles of all ages and a wide array of technology, we celebrate the presence of God and lead the Body in Spirit-inspired worship.

Choir

Since the beginning of Greeneville First Church of God, choirs have been important. Though its organizational structure has changed over the years, the Sanctuary Choir has a heritage of great singing.

Today, the Sanctuary Choir is the foundational vocal ensemble at GFCOG. Congregational singing in worship services on Sunday mornings is enriched by its sound. The choir also sings in special musical events at the church. The Sanctuary Choir’s role in worship is not to perform anthems or to be the vocal elite in the sanctuary. Their role is to lead worship—to remind the congregation of the presence of God in singing.

The choir is open to any member of GFCOG that meet Leadership Level 3 without an audition. As the main vocal ensemble at the church, there are expectations of rehearsal attendance, recording listening, and other time commitments.
